Repayment of loans by Direct Debit
Direct Debit is a simple, reliable and cost-effective method of payment for transactions up to £20 million. To pay by Direct Debit just print out the Direct Debit Instruction (65 KB) complete it and post it to the address shown on the form. We will process the form and tell you when collections will begin. You will be given advance notice before each subsequent payment is collected.
Parish, town and community councils are asked to include an completed Direct Debit Instruction with their loan applications (see Lending to Parish Councils).
For parish, town and community councils a double signature on a Direct Debit Instruction meets regulatory requirements. The Direct Debit Guarantee on the Instruction gives details of the safeguards offered by the scheme in the event of a mistake being made by either the Board or your Bank or Building Society.
